The Story of Two Artist who fell in Love

proposal-story

One year ago today, on November 1st 2016, my now husband Ryan Heimbach proposed to me on the beach in Laguna. It was one of the best days of my life so far, other than the day we got married in March 2017. Below what follows is the short and sweet story of how we met and fell in love. I hope you enjoy!

{ larger than life charcoal portraits by Ryan Heimbach}

It began as a chance encounter at a gallery during artwalk in Laguna Beach. An artist (Ryan) was drawing a large scale charcoal portrait in the gallery. Kimberly came into the gallery for a visit and would end up chatting to the artist briefly. That was in March of 2014, fast forward to October 2014. At a party her collective studio in Laguna was hosting she would be introduced by several mutual friends to Ryan, " Hey you guys are both artists," was the common reference as they met. You could say it was love at second sight. They were inseparable from that night on. Staying up all night talking and having their first kiss on Main beach in Laguna (where Kim was later surprised with a proposal from Ryan!).

The next day Kimberly was invited to Ryan's place to walk to the Laguna Canyon dog park with their dogs, Mr.Bailey and Sammy. Upon arrival at Ryan's, Kim noticed the large scale charcoal drawings on his walls. "I met you before!" she remembered back to March, as did he. They knew it was meant to be.

Cheers witches, Happy Halloween!

What fun plans do you have? What are you dressing up as? This year I am keeping Halloween low key with my husband at home. My plans are to make a delicious stew, carve pumpkins, roast pumpkin seeds and watch a semi-scary movie all while wearing my lace cat ears.

Magical unicorn costume inspiration I painted below inspired by StyledbyKasey.

Have you been introduced to my friend Casetify before?

If so, you already know about their top quality and reputation for on-trend designs. So I was stoked when they asked me to join their artist collection and sell my original watercolor art on their iPhone cases. It is a great way for me as an artist to get a little income from my artwork, while not having to deal with the logistics of it all. While you get to benefit from a variety of my original art available on quality iPhone cases shipped quickly to your door!  They also offer a variety of styles including grip cases, snap cases, wallet cases and glitter cases (yes I said glitter!).

I actually just ordered the pineapple case you see above but I also have it available with a solid white background and glitter.

As you probably already know if you follow me on insta, I am currently obsessed with pineapples! I assume others must be to, because we only have a couple spots left for my pineapple watercolor workshop next Thursday. If you want to join us in Laguna Beach for the evening, please purchase a ticket as soon as possible to save your spot!

The other great thing about Casetify is that they offer deals every day. Like literally everyday, just check the top announcement bar on their website while shopping. Today it is:

I will share photos and give an update on instagram when my pineapple case arrives. I am pretty sure it is going to be here before my pineapple workshop, but we will see!

Take a look at my watercolor iPhone cases and tell me which is your favorite in the comments below, or maybe give it a heart on Casetify. If you are in the market for a case I would love it if you purchase one for yourself but I also think it would make a cute gift! Speaking of gifts, in the future I am thinking of offering custom art on phone cases. How adorable would that be for the upcoming holidays?! Too soon to mention? You know it will be here before you know it. Think how cute a custom pet portrait or a fashion illustration would be on an iPhone case!?! thoughts on all this? Let me know in the comments!  Have a good Tuesday evening, eat some tacos! -Kim
